Co-Recreation League Rules

  • Days Played - Thursdays or Friday nights

  • Starting Date - Thursday nights-May 21 and Friday nights- May 22

  • Game Times - 6, 7, 8 & 9 pm

  • Fields Used - Memorial and Mill Parks

  • Home and Away - First team listed is the home team

  • Run Rules - 10 Run rule after 5 innings, and 20 run rule after 3½

  • Game Postponement   Most games will be postponed by umpire. If it has been raining all day and the Parks and Recreation Department feels it could pose a liability problem, it reserves the right to postpone a game. Please call the rainout number at 454-2900 ext. 3350 if the rain out page has not been updated.

  • Number of players in the league -  We will use the rule in the book. If there is no person batting in the 10th batting position, no out is recorded.

  • Number of players playing because of an injury No outs are recorded for an injury, but teams will end with as many that can play.

  • Ejection - Player ejected from game is followed by player suspension. Players who receive a game disqualification according to ASA/MSF guidelines will also receive a ten day suspension which begins the day following the incident. Suspended players are not allowed on park property during the suspension period. The suspended player's team will not be allowed to play if the suspended player is on park property and that game will also be forfeited if the suspended player does not leave immediately. Reinstatement: suspensions shall be immediate and remain in effect until such time that the suspended party and his team manager appear before the Parks and Recreation Sportsmanship and Eligibility committee.

  • Number of games per season - 12

  • Home Run Rule - A 2 home run limit for all leagues, excess home runs are automatic outs.

  • Courtesy Runner - The same sex person who made the last out will be used as the courtesy runner.

  • Field Order - There must be 2 men and 2 women in infield position, 1 man and 1 woman in the catcher/pitching positions, and 2 men and 2 women in the outfield positions

  • Missing players - By rule, teams can start with 8 players (4 men and 4 women) and no out will be taken for players missing. If you play with nine players, an automatic out will be taken if the same gendered person bats back to back.

  • Blood Rule - You need to carry an extra shirt and pants to accommodate the blood borne pathogen rule in the book.

  • Wrong Ball pitched - We will use the rule in the book concerning wrong ball pitched. Base coaches on 3rd base will hold the extra ball.

  • Tie-Breaker Rule - One hour game time limit. We will use the tie breaker rule if running late per game. Please hustle your players in and out of the field to keep the games on schedule. Tie breaker rule: The batter who made the last out will be put on second base to start an inning and three outs must occur. The same rule applies for the home team. At the end of that inning, a winner will be declared if a run  scores. If no runs score, the game will end in a tie with a  point going to each team.

  • Rain Make Up - schedule according to rain makeup schedule at the end of the season

We ask that you please pick up any cans that you may toss on the ground or cups used when drinking.  We do not want to have to enforce any drinking ordinances, so help out.  Do not sit and drink after 9:00 games as the police will ask people to leave the parks after those games.
